Bob Shearer began his golf design career working
alongside a number of world renowned golf course architects. For seven years
he was able to help with the design and construction supervision of a number
of courses in Australia and Asia. This experience provided him with the
skills and confidence to launch his own company in 1998.
However Bob's love of playing the game was still great so he combined his new business with the European Seniors Tour. He started out helping existing clubs remodel and upgrade their courses in between competition on the Tour. Gradually the design business has taken over priority and new courses are now being designed and constructed in Asia and Australia by Shearer Golf Design.
Bob's wide experience playing golf around the world has helped him become
a designer sensitive to the needs of the natural environment, aware of the
developer's wishes to create an economically viable project and an understanding
of the players' desire for an interesting and challenging journey.
Shearer Golf Design aims to create high quality, environmentally sensitive and challenging golf courses around the world. The team at Shearer Golf Design is dedicated and talented and collectively represents over forty years of experience in the design and construction of golf courses world wide.
